The Gretna Gardeners and Soldiers Field Volunteer Brigade have transformed our community over the past year through dedicated volunteer efforts. With each volunteer day, 12-20 community members show up to enhance Mount Gretna's natural beauty and ecological health.
Now we need your help to keep this momentum going.
Our volunteers need additional tools to continue their important work:
The Gretna Gardeners bring beauty through flower beds, pollinator gardens, and native plant areas throughout the Chautauqua
The Soldiers Field Volunteer Brigade is restoring this historic space through wildflower meadow creation and invasive species removal
If you have gently used garden tools collecting dust, please consider donating them to these community efforts. Simply drop them off at the Borough Office over the next two weeks in the designated area to the right of the office door.
Even if you can't join us for volunteer days, your tool donations will directly support the beautification and ecological restoration of our shared spaces. Thank you for helping us grow!
Tools We Need:
Shovels and spades
Rakes (leaf and garden)
Pruners and loppers
Hand trowels and hedge shears
Pruning saws
Wheelbarrows
5-gallon buckets
Curious if we could stand up a community tool shed with the donated items? As a first time homebuyer I haven't had the chance / means to buy every tool I need and I used to utilize a successful tool shed program in Arlington, VA that was at the public library.
